New here? Start with these 3 steps.

  1. Create your account. Tap Create an account or sign in above. On the next page, choose Create an account. Save the email address and password you choose.
  2. Choose monthly or yearly. Complete the Stripe checkout. If JJ gave you a free-access code, tap Add promotion code in checkout and apply it before finishing. A valid free-access code should show $0 due.
  3. Open your library. Return here and tap Open BookOrbit. If access is still being confirmed, wait a few seconds and refresh this page.

iPhone: install the BookOrbit app

Install BookOrbit for iPhone

The official app requires iOS 26 or newer. If your phone cannot install it, use the browser steps below.

  1. Open the BookOrbit app. Choose the option to add or connect to a server.
  2. Enter this exact server address:https://books.jguerrero.devPress and hold the address above to copy it. Paste the whole address, including https://. Do not add /login or use the join page address.
  3. Continue to the sign-in screen. Leave BookOrbit's username and password boxes empty.
  4. Tap “Sign in with Family Library”. Look for the Family Library button below the regular login boxes. The app will open our sign-in page in your browser.
  5. Sign in on that page. Use the email address and password you chose when joining Family Library. If you are already signed in, this step may happen automatically.
  6. Return to BookOrbit. If your phone asks to open BookOrbit, tap Open. Choose an audiobook and press Play.

The important part: Enter the server address first, then use step 4: Sign in with Family Library. Your membership password is entered on our browser sign-in page, not in BookOrbit's regular login boxes.

Android, older iPhones, or any computer: use your browser

  1. Open books.jguerrero.dev in Chrome or Safari.
  2. Tap Sign in with Family Library. Use the same email address and password you chose when joining.
  3. Choose an audiobook and press Play.
  4. On Android, open Chrome's three-dot menu and choose Add to Home screen (or Install app, if offered) for an easy library shortcut.

Android audiobook apps from other developers also exist, but their Family Library sign-in has not been checked here yet. The browser is the supported Android option for now.

Want an audiobook we do not have?

Send your request inside the library. Use a browser for these steps, even if you normally listen in the iPhone app.

  1. Open books.jguerrero.dev and sign in with Family Library.
  2. Open the menu and choose Requests (it may say Requests (Beta)).
  3. Choose Request a book, select Audiobook, then search for the book title or author.
  4. Find the right book and tap Request. If someone already requested it, tap Add me too.
  5. Check My requests to see its progress. Requests need review and availability is not guaranteed. When a book is added, it joins our shared library.

If Requests is missing, sign out of BookOrbit and sign back in with Family Library to refresh your account permissions.

A few helpful answers

Do we share the same books?

Yes. Everyone uses the shared audiobook collection, but each person has their own account and listening progress.

The app asks me to buy BookOrbit Premium. Do I need to?

Your Family Library membership gives you access to our library. The app developer sells a separate optional upgrade for extra app features. A Family Library free-access code does not cover that app purchase. You can also listen in your browser.

How do I cancel or manage my membership?

Sign in here and tap Manage subscription. If you cancel, access continues until your current subscription period ends. If you subscribe again later, use your existing Family Library account to keep your listening progress.

I cannot sign in. What should I check?

Check that your server address is exactly https://books.jguerrero.dev, that you chose Sign in with Family Library, and that your membership is active here. If you forgot your password or still need help, contact JJ.
